Cryptocurrency: Why
Imagine a world where there is almost no funding for great art and culture, while war and chaos is funded more than ever. The only planet humans have colonised today will remain dystopian until this problem is fixed.
The problem has existed for decades but it’s getting much worse. The more unique the artist, the less chance of them surviving today in the old world business monopoly.
If you’re an artist outside the States or the UK your chances of success are even smaller no matter how talented you are.
Quantum Indigo may be the first artists collective of its kind in history but we couldn’t do what we do without the Internet and Cryptocurrencies.
The communication breakthroughs that the Internet provides revolutionise remote collaboration allowing new steps of change for artists and culture creators. But what about artists making enough money to survive?
What about creators of beauty who wish to remain anonymous to escape from the culture of celebrity?
It’s perfect that “Satoshi Nakamoto”, the creator(s) of the world’s first cryptocurrency were anonymous and created the ability for culture creators to receive value directly from their advocates.
For the first time in history, Cryptocurrency & Blockchain enables Anonymous creators of beauty and culture to receive credit for their work through the blockchain and funds to survive through cryptocurrencies.
Since coinage was created thousands of years ago, and the ability to receive value has existed. Astonishingly, credit cards make it easy to spend money over the Internet but not to receive. Our ability to communicate artists and creators are finding it more difficult to receive money.
Many people who were born in the ‘wrong’ country (the majority of countries on earth) cannot easily receive money through the Internet for their artistic and cultural works.
We have big dreams and a number of our creators live outside first world countries. Even the Ukraine is not considered a first world country and certainly our musician friends who were born and live within the continent of Africa don’t qualify help through traditionalist financial structures.
Blockchain is immutable so the credit that the artists receive lasts forever. At any time in the future one of our anonymous cultural creators
Most of us have been financially struggling our whole lives to focus on the creation of meaningful art. Instead, we’ve been forced to create musical commercials or work a dead end job to eat and stay out of the rain.
Imagine if Beethoven was forced to create jingles for chewing gum instead creating the 9th symphony.
Without the Internet, Cryptocurrency and Blockchain our decentralised tribe could not be possible.
Cryptocurrencies have the power to revolutionise direct payments to cultural groups. Micropayments are made possible by cryptocurrencies where credit card fees would take the “pennies” that a micropayment economy could allow independent artists and creators to have.
Cryptocurrencies and smart contracts will help to cut out the legion of grabbing hands in the middle and allow artists more control of their destiny.
Cryptocurrencies opens up a world of decentralised donations that weren’t possible before and empowers advocates to directly support artists.
Quantum Indigo is only beginning to tap the potential of cryptocurrencies. We have often felt ignorant and confused by this new technology but we are the first decentralised band and media arts collective to use cryptocurrencies and the blockchain. We request help and in turn we are helping others.
We’re fighting to introduce the numerous benefits of cryptocurrency to many artists around the world. The traditionalist music business monopoly is broken. It treats its artists like puppets on strings. Read more about the problem and solution within the Quantum Indigo Manifesto.
